Reorder planning

The Bookshop wants to replenish exercise books before stock runs out. A policy can trigger a recommendation when availability reaches the agreed level, while the purchase request still gives a person the chance to review the need.

Set a reorder policy

  1. Open Inventory > Reorder planning and select Set reorder policy.
  2. Choose the stock item and posting warehouse.
  3. Enter the Reorder level and Reorder quantity. For example, review a level of 40 books with a replenishment quantity of 200 against actual demand.
  4. Save the policy and review the recommendations for that item and warehouse.
A reorder policy is scoped to one item and posting warehouse.

Review a recommendation

The table shows availability, reorder level and recommended quantity. Review existing demand and incoming purchases before acting. Use the recommendation’s purchase-request action where available; it opens procurement preparation with the item, quantity and warehouse.

Review the prepared request and submit it through the normal procurement process. A recommendation is not an automatically placed supplier order.

No recommendation appears

  • Confirm the policy applies to the item and warehouse you are reviewing.
  • Check available stock against the active threshold and clear any search filter.
  • An empty recommendation list does not mean the stock ledger is empty; open Stock balances for the quantities.
