Stock entries and tracking
The storekeeper transfers 20 exercise books from the Bookshop to a teaching store. The same physical movement decreases one location and increases the other. A pair of unrelated receipt and issue records would make that connection harder to audit.

Choose the movement that happened
| Movement | Evidence to check |
|---|---|
| Receipt | Goods entering the target warehouse and their cost; avoid duplicating a purchase receipt. |
| Issue | Goods leaving the source warehouse and the reason for issue. |
| Transfer | The same items moving between source and target locations. |
| Adjustment | An authorized adjustment supported by an explanation; use Stock counts for a physical reconciliation. |
Batch and serial details
For batch-tracked issues and transfers, choose an available batch in the source warehouse. For an incoming tracked batch, provide the batch details requested by the editor. For serial-tracked stock, list the actual serial numbers, separated by commas.
Tracking identifiers must describe the goods being moved. A different batch or serial is not a substitute for an unavailable quantity.
Review posting and correction
- Check that the entry reaches Submitted, then inspect Stock balances, Stock ledger and accounting evidence.
- If status is Posting with an error, accounting is incomplete. Resolve the cause and use Retry posting on the same entry.
- Use Reverse on an eligible submitted entry with a reason and valid posting date when correcting the recorded movement. Preserve the original evidence.
