Stock ledger and repost evidence

The Demo School stock ledger shows a receipt of 200 exercise books worth KES 10,000 into the Bookshop. That row explains both a quantity change and its value. A current balance alone cannot explain when or why the goods arrived.

Read the stock ledger

  1. Open Inventory > Stock ledger > Stock ledger.
  2. Choose From and To dates, and narrow by Item or Warehouse where needed. Select Apply.
  3. Review the movement, quantity change, value change and resulting quantity/value balances.
  4. Use CSV for a reviewed export and retain its filter context.
The actual demo receipt adds 200 exercise books and KES 10,000 of stock value.

Review repost evidence

Open Repost evidence when investigating valuation recalculation, such as a landed-cost change affecting later stock values. Review the source, status and recorded evidence before signing off the valuation.

The view provides evidence; it is not a free-form stock-value editor. Resolve failed or incomplete source workflows through their supported actions and review the final result.

Compare stock and accounting

  • Use the same item, warehouse and cutoff date as the physical or accounting reconciliation.
  • Trace receipts, deliveries, counts, landed costs and reversals through their source records.
  • Check incomplete Posting states before interpreting a quantity movement as fully accounted.
  • Compare the relevant inventory control accounts in Financial reports, explaining timing or scope differences rather than forcing a balancing adjustment.
